Sierra's Dream Comes True

Sierra finally got her dream of about 4 years. She got a dog! She has been vounteering at a local dog and cat boarding place called The Dog Park for almost a year now. We thought that would cure her of her desire to get a dog. We were wrong. It made it worse. So her dad and I decided to give in and get her one for Christmas. Three weeks before Christmas we went to an adoption fair where a few local shelters were gathered for pet adoptions. Sierra had previously researched dogs and found the one she wanted, an Australian Shepherd. She wanted one that was about 6 months old, a girl, and brown or black. We went to the shelter to see if she would find a different dog since Australian Shepherds are usually pure bred dogs and quite expensive. Well, we found a female, 6 month old, brown, Australian Shepherd. We took her into a back room to get to know her and see how she acted around us. As we sat down, Maggie, put her head in Sierra's lap and we knew we couldn't go home without her. So Sierra got her dog 3 weeks before Christmas. We tried to surprise the girls by leaving without the dog and then we were going to return later to pick her up. Alexis was really mad that we would get their hopes up and then just leave and Sierra was devastated and just cried, promising she would do anything we wanted if she could just have the dog. We are glad, mostly, that Maggie joined our family.
