Woods Cross Girls Team Wins The Region 6 Championships

On January 21st, Alexis participated in the Woods Cross High School Region Championships. Their girls team is quite good and were hoping to win Region this year. Alexis, as a freshman, contributed to their win by bringing in two 3rd places. She swam the 200 Yard Freestyle in 2:09.67 and the 500 Yard Freestyle in 5:42.37. She was sick with a sinus and ear infection all week and missed practice and wasn't feeling well. She is feeling better and ready to work towards the High School State Meet February 4th & 5th. This was the first time in Woods Cross High School History that the girls swim team won Region. It was exciting for Alexis to be apart of this event. They pushed their coach in the water at the end of the meet and were presented with the trophy at half time of the boys Woods Cross vs Bountiful basketball game. Alexis was on cloud nine and couldn't stop smiling.
